Single leg takedown

Target

Aim for your opponent’s front/lead leg

Positioning

Keep your head strictly on the outside of your opponent’s leg. Pin your shoulder against waist to maintain control

Execution

• To complete the takedown, pull and rotate the opponent’s leg clockwise, using a downward spiral motion

• Utilize your outside leg to assist in creating the spiral effect

Control

As the opponent hits the ground, maintain control on their legs. Do not release your grip

Transition

Aim to secure the side mount position. If you land in their guard, scramble quickly to escape and establish side mount control
